Usability evaluation.
(In the Section Verify your site - Navigation and links, you
will find some easy points on the usability test and comply in a website)
The assessment of usability, as
opposed to accessibility, it is more theoretical and only manual
or at most semi-automatic.
Then you can do personally to try such a test:
Assessment to user feedback:
For a user, ask to complete two
tasks for the site, the first easier the second more complicated:
1. Find the e-mail to contact the
webmaster of your site and then return to the homepage.
2. Knowing how to make, on this site, an assessment of
accessibility in automatic with Webxact and return home taking
the route followed, but backwards, and without using the arrow
button "back"
The user must be observed during
the course of the test.
The assessment that we can give,
not to the user who has followed these tasks, but to usability
of the site, can be expressed as follows:
1st task: the user has
reached quickly the link for e-mail of the webmaster of the site
without a hitch (e.g. errors for unclear links).
After finding the e-mail goes
immediately on the logo of the site or on the link "Home",
always in evidence in all the pages, allowing it to easily reach the home page.
2nd task: the user is immediately directed into the section
"Accessibility" contain a link to the automatic evaluation of accessibility.
Clicking on it once he found the link to the target required "Webxact".
While browsing he is already aware of the "way back" and change
the color of links already visited and, thanks to the title, he
immediately noticed in that section, and page was located and,
without error, is back in the first section "Accessibility",
then in the Home Page of the site.
Semi-automatic evaluation:
The only valid method of assessment is an automated tool called
